Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU) assignment submissions are conducted online through the student portal in PDF format under 5 MB per file. Assignments carry a maximum of 15 CIA marks based on the average of all submitted assignments, with one assignment required for every 2 credits. Students preparing assignments must include standard course details on their assignment cover pages or headers as specified in the assignment question paper format.

Assignment answers must be original and written in the student’s own words. Submissions that directly reproduce TNOU course materials will not be awarded marks.

  • Word limit for B.Ed assignments: approximately 500 words per question
  • Word limit for B.Sc Physics assignments: maximum 1,000 words per question
  • Credit rule: 1 assignment for every 2 credits
  • Internal assessment weightage: Maximum 15 marks calculated from the average of total assignments

Step-by-Step Online Assignment Submission Procedure

TNOU requires students to submit assignments online through its student automation portal.

  1. Open the TNOU student portal login page.
  2. Enter your valid enrolment number and click Login.
  3. Select the Online Assignments option to open the assignment dashboard.
  4. Click Search, or search by course name, year, or semester to view your required assignments list.
  5. Click Download next to the subject to download the official question paper.
  6. Prepare the assignment, scan it, and save it as a PDF file under 5 MB in size.
  7. Click the Upload button next to the course name.
  8. Click Choose File to select your PDF document and click Submit.
  9. Confirm that the status updates to Submitted.
  10. To review or re-upload a corrected file before the due date, open the Submitted Assignments tab and click Reupload.

Project Submission Deadline for TEE August 2026

Students appearing for the Term End Examination (TEE) August 2026 must complete and submit their Project work on or before 23 October 2026.

Projects submitted after 23 October 2026 will not be accepted or evaluated for the TEE August 2026 session.

TNOU has not published the general assignment submission deadline for the 2026 regular academic session on its site as of 02 October 2026.
